Transparent OLED Light Up the Guggenheim Museum for the Annual Young Collectors Council Party
The Guggenheim Museum is well known for celebrating artistic expression. In this spirit, the Guggenheim and LG announced a five-year, multifaceted collaboration to research, honor and promote artists who leverage technology as their medium at the Young Collectors Council(YCC) Party. The guests were also introduced to the Transparent OLED technology displays developed and perfected by LG Display.
June 1st marked the historic announcement along with the return of the Guggenheim Young Collectors Council Party. The annual Young Collectors Council Party is one of the largest, most glamorous events of the year and raises important funds for acquisitions of artwork, hosted by a dynamic group of young professionals, ages 21 to 40, who support the museum’s landmark building, exhibitions, collection, and educational programs. LG Display dazzled the event guests in a festival of color and movement with a larger-than-life Transparent OLED screen, displaying vibrant colorful photo moments.
The night was packed with delightful surprises as guests enjoyed atmospheric club designs by artists Jacolby Satterwhite and Tourmaline, performances by Perfume Genius and Maya Margarita, delicious cocktails, riveting beats provided by DJ TT Britt, and exclusive access to select exhibitions.
The LG Guggenheim Art and Technology Initiative was introduced and celebrated at the dynamic event, which was presented by LG Display. The exciting collaboration includes a distinctive LG Guggenheim Award recognizing one artist annually for their groundbreaking achievements in technology-based art. Guests, artists, and industry professionals alike thoroughly enjoyed the energetic and immersive evening, and the first YCC Party since the pandemic.
Throughout the evening, a shining star was LG Display’s Transparent OLED. These screens of the future act as an amazingly vivid, organic-looking, and pristine canvas that allows guests to feel both the separation and integration of space when visualized. Transparent OLED Screens on display acted as a futuristic photo booths in the striking area, giving guests a multi-dimensional encounter that enhanced the experience. With the potential for Transparent OLED on any glass surface, party-goers got the first look at artistic displays directly woven into the human experience.
This night was a true celebration of the technological advancements of Transparent OLED. Everything from the event stage, to the menus, to the partnership atmosphere perfectly interlaced present reality to an expansive and promising future using the transparent displays.
