But how does OLED tell us what colors to see on a pitch-black screen?
The secret lies in image quality.

Image quality to OLED, is what the eye is to a human being. LCD displays use panels to control its backlight light sources, failing to fully prevent light leakage, which leads to a lack of color accuracy.

However, self-emissive OLED displays are able to deliver true color, expressing perfect black.
