K-Display 2023: OLED Innovates Mobility and Transparent Technology
K-Display 2023, the largest display exhibition in Korea, was held in COEX for three days from August 16 to 18. Under the theme “Always On”, LG Display exhibited not only its full OLED lineup but also next-generation display solutions for mobility as well as showcasing Transparent OLEDs of different sizes. Read on to experience the innovations in OLED technology led by LG Display.
Thanks to the technological superiority and tireless innovation of LG Display, the world’s first 55” Full HD OLED TV was successfully mass-produced in 2013. Ever since then, LG Display’s OLED has been solidified as a premium product all over the world. In this exhibition, visitors were able to experience the full scope of OLED’s evolution, from the world’s largest 97” screen to the micro OLEDoS that’s just 0.42” in size.

In 2023, LG Display delivered the height of its technology with META Technology and Gaming OLED. META Technology realizes enhanced brightness, a wider viewing angle, and deeper color expression by adding MLA and META Booster to the 2nd Generation EX Technology. META Technology brought OLED closer to achieving Natural Reality, the exceptional image quality that OLED ultimately pursues.
Did you know that each game genre has its optimal curvature for maximum immersion? LG Display engaged in lengthy research to develop the Adaptive Curvature OLED technology to control the optimal curve for each game. One press of a button on the remote control activates the selected curvature of your screen, ranging from completely flat to 800R. While the adaptive curves present the best respective screens for racing games, shooters, sports games, and so on, the fast response time of 0.03ms, low input lag, a high 240Hz refresh rate, and realistic audio via AI-applied Film Type Thin Actuator Sound OLED(F-TAS) also heightens gaming immersion.
Widely regarded as the future transportation method, EV(Electric Vehicle) markets are growing globally with each passing day. In line with this trend, LG Display’s P-OLED display focuses on electrification and enhanced self-driving, the two main trends in the current automobile market. P-OLED proves to be the optimal solution for future EVs by providing a high brightness level, durability, reliability, and improved electric efficiency through 60% lower power consumption and 80% lighter weight compared to LCDs.

34” P-OLED Full Dashboard & 12.8" P-OLED Center Fascia
Visitors were able to experience both the display and sound technology in the Cockpit, located inside a model vehicle. All the displays inside the vehicle were designed in fluid curves to promote safety. The massive 34” Full Dashboard that runs along almost the entire length of the windshield seamlessly displayed each piece of information in an integrated UI/UX design, and the 12.8” steering wheel and CID(Center Information Display), integrated harmoniously into the interior of the vehicle. For enhanced space efficiency, the normally bulky Rear Seat Entertainment(RSE) system had been streamlined into the front seat by utilizing P-OLED.
Featuring an LG Display and Starbucks collaboration, the “Transparent Future” exhibit attracted many visitors by utilizing Transparent OLEDs in a pop-up coffee shop. The interactive and curved F&B Showcase displayed the aesthetically arranged products and even provided relevant product information while taking customer orders—resulting in a new and unique retail experience.
